An unidentified woman on a Ukraine International Airlines flight didn't feel like waiting for other passengers to disembark, so she decided to use the plane's emergency exit. The plane had just landed at Boryspil International Airport when the woman, who was traveling with her husband and two kids, complained of being "too hot" and said she "needed some air." The woman proceeded to walk to the back of the cabin, open the door and stroll out onto the wing of the aircraft. Stunned onlookers watched from the runway as the woman casually took a seat on the wing near the engine of the 737.
A minute-long video captured the woman relaxing on the wing until a member of the flight crew convinced her to come back inside the plane.
The woman's children couldn't believe what was happening.
"By that time, her two children were outside the plane and standing right next to me," one of the passengers said, according to The Sun. "They were surprised, saying, 'That's our mum!'"
When the pilot realized the emergency door had been opened, he contacted airport security, which arrived on the scene along with doctors, police, and border service agents. They determined the woman was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Ukraine International Airlines said they have blacklisted the woman, and blasted her for setting a bad example for her children. They said that she could face "an exceptionally high financial penalty in the form of a fine" for her actions.
